By now, as you settle in London, you will have come across British news. You may have visited BBC News online, bought an English newspaper, listened to news on the radio, or simply picked up a copy of the Metro on the tube. Some of you may be discussing news in the classroom, others may be interested to see how British broadcasting differs from the US.
There is an overarching theme that connects the different channels of British, US and global news- the dissemination of predominantly negative news in the media. The magazine Positive News is a constructive journalism magazine that ‘looks at society’s challenges through a lens of progress and possibility’. Now online and in print, this established publication is bringing positive and inspiring news to the forefront. We have two copies in the Program Office, so if you have time spare in between classes you are welcome to come and have a read.
